Lori enjoyed working with this first-time couple as their birth assistant.

After laboring at home throughout the early morning until the afternoon, everyone decided at about 3pm that it was time to head to the birth center. Lori met them there at about 4:15pm, and mom was doing a wonderful job coping while vocalizing. She settled into the bed, in a position that was most comfortable to her, and labored with her husband. Labor was really progressing well, at this point, and focusing on one contraction at a time proved to be a help in getting this mom through the labor.

By 5:45pm, mom was feeling an urge to push with every contraction, and was found to be completely dilated. Many positions were tried while pushing, but the most comfortable and efficient position for her was hands and knees, and after nearly 2 hours of pushing, at 7:43pm, baby Avery was birthed into her dad\'s hands.

What a beautiful day, and how grateful Lori was to be a part of this special occasion!
